Horse and wine!

What a great plan, especially when travel is made easier to combine those two pleasures.

Itinerary :
Friday: 15H11 departure from London Waterloo for Paris Gare du Nord. 18H53 transfer from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon.
20H00 at gare de Lyon in Paris, you will embark on the TGV train, which will take you to Le Creusot station in just 1H20.
Saturday: You will meet your horses there and get ready for a 3-day ride combining exhilarating pleasures and great wines’ tasting.

Departure for Mercurey through the Charolais farmland and the first vineyard. In Rully, we’ll stop for our first tasting just before reaching our hotel in Fontaine. You won’t be asked to blow into the bag on horseback!

Sunday:

Chassagne-Montrachet is just a few hours horse ride away. The most prestigious white wine will be waiting for you there. In the afternoon, we will travel through splendid landscapes – result of the erosion on calcareous rocks - before discovering La Rochepot castle, where we’ll spend our second night.

Monday : We will reach Pommard, via the hills overlooking the vineyards, for a timeless visit. We will visit Pommard castle where Napoleon, who was very fond of this vineyard, stayed. We will also visit the castle’s cellars, where the wine-making secrets will be partially unveiled, before tasting the local production.

Lunch in the park before a horse ride in the winegrowing area.

After this tasting, we will head back to the hills to go round Beaune, which we’ll reach from the North.

A horseback visit is a must in the wines capital. Our horses will take the pavement streets of the old town, pass by the Hospices before heading toward the station. You will then say goodbye to your horses before getting on the 16H44 train to Paris Gare de Lyon via Dijon. Arrival in London at 22H28.

Accommodation ::

We will sleep in hotels of character, where you will find a cosy bed and a shower to wipe off the weariness from the day.

Food :

Dinner is taken at the hotel. Lunches are hearty and varied country-style meals served hot or cold according to the season. It’s always nice to have a table set by a forest.

Horses :
We know that the horses are the key to the success of a horse ride. This is why we chose and raised our horses. They were born in the Morvan, they live in the Morvan. They are reliable, calm when needed, fast and tough when we ask them to be. They will surprise you by their capabilities and will make you discover another horse-riding.

Riding level :
Comfortable with the three paces. Many long gallops in every conditions (even downhill).
